Role
Chief Impact Officer — led the institutional revitalisation and oversaw three newly built departments (communications, research & publications, initiatives)
cifs.dk ↗Challenge
Founded in 1969 by former Danish minister and OECD secretary-general Professor Thorkil Kristensen, the historically well-regarded futures think tank had taken a back-seat and drifted into stagnation.
Approach
Designed and led a complete organisational revitalisation, starting by revisiting the institute's foundational purpose and re-establishing its mandate. Built out the institute's impact function and external alliances, and stood up new communications, research & publications, and initiatives departments to carry the strategy forward.
Outcome
A revised core story, purpose statement, theory of change and vision, paired with a new brand identity and communications strategy that brought the institute out of the shadows. Growing accreditation and influence across UN and EU systems, alongside new national, academic and civic partnerships, and a broadened activity portfolio and funding model. Ultimately, the institute became a dynamic, UNESCO-Chair organisation — repositioned as one of the world's leading futures think tanks, with collaborators and clients ranging from the United Nations to Fortune 500 companies.
