Experience
My work sits at the intersection of three fields I've spent my career moving between: marketing, where I learned how organisations tell their story and shape perception; innovation and entrepreneurship, where I learned how they build new ventures and explore uncharted ground; and societal change-making, where I learned how they find purpose and take a role in the world. Working across sectors — from consumer brands and tech companies, to academia and civic movements, to philanthropic foundations and intergovernmental bodies — taught me that these aren't separate disciplines: they're the same underlying capability — building the institutional layer above an organisation's commercial or operational work, the layer that lets it act as a cultural force, not just compete for market share or audiences — applied at whatever level needed: story, shape, and direction.
Highlights
/Early experience spanned extracurricular leadership — serving as Vice President of the Cambridge University Technology & Enterprise Club, running the Cambridge Technology Ventures Conference — and marketing roles at Harley-Davidson: an early taste for building brands and institutions.
/Went on to hold senior executive roles — including Chief Impact Officer at the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies and Director of Corporate Innovation at TBWA — leading substantial teams through periods of significant organisational change.
/Those years shaped a leadership style people still point to today: empowering and trusting, focused on drawing the best out of others — and daring them to explore. "That kind of leadership can absolutely be applied to sectors you haven't yet worked in," as one former colleague put it.
/That experience now carries into a range of board, committee and advisory roles, alongside ongoing collaborations, fellowship and independent advisory work across institutions, companies and civic initiatives.
